Exam Papers:
In this exam, I have chosen 'Symmetry' theme. I chose this theme because it present many things such as nature, and infrastructure and also religions. I really like how the artists framed the photos digitally making it unique and exclusive. I also really like how the photographs look contrasting between complicated and simplistic. The photographs shows the opposition of nature connection and infrastructure presenting the economy of the world. I want to do 'Symmetry' because in many photographs there are many editing to do, and editing is my strength which makes it easier for me to do.There many photographs showing different religions paintings showing their different religions and culture and how they celebrate.
Symmetry: Artists Research:
Homework:
For my first homework, I took multiple photos of different various of photos in different areas and at different time. I mostly took photos at different time, instead in different areas, I did this because the time of the day portrays the settings of the area I took photos.
Artist Research:
Adams Jacob:
Adam Jacobs is a photographer from San Francisco/London, he becomes a photographer when he realized that he is very passion taking photos since he spent a period of two years lying in the dark with chronic daily migraines, photography became his therapy.
In this photographs, I see many photos of symmetry of buildings such as a big cities, houses, bridges and many different areas. The idea of symmetry gives a not a lot of complicated views of the photos. The photographs are abstract images since the images had been edited using the same photo and making the photo the opposite way to make it symmetry. In some photos, if you look really closely, the photographer uses two different symmetric images, while it look like it is a one image. The things that make me recognise are there are cities and buildings. The things that seem new to me are the camera view of the photos, in all of the photos the camera position are bird eye, so the camera are on top of the view, this makes me look confused because taking a photo of the top of a huge city/area must be really hard.
The angle of the view in these photographs are various different types, for example in some photos the angle of the view are wide, narrow and normal, which makes the photos very confusing because it looks more deformed.

I like this photograph taken from Adams Jacob, this is because the way he edited his photographs to make it symmetric, he does not just simply edit it, he uses varies different of photos in one frame, which makes us, the viewers, think it is a one photo. This shows us that his editing skills are high-level, he does not just look for simple photographs of editing, but also edit it to look more complicated.

first experiment:
In my first experiment, I choose three random photos from my homework and I edited them using Photoshop. I used some ideas from the artist, who is Adams Jacob that I chosen and inspired from and I used my own ideas to make my own photographs. The ideas that I used from Jacob is he used symmetry by using the same photos but making it the opposite way, so I used the same ideas. Also, he mostly took photos of buildings, so I took photos of many different buildings.

Experiment(Homework):
In this homework, I took multiple various photos in different areas. I took photos of buildings, inspired by Adam Jacobs, I took different photos in different time.
I used Photoshop to edit my photos. I edited the photos by making the copied photo the opposite way, making it symmetrical. However, I used some of my ideas to cover the collage using the same photos, but I made it blurry, making to look unique and complicated. I mixed around the photos but I don't want to make it spread out since it look too much of messy so I tried to make it look simple and clean.
What I like about these photographs are that they look quite simple and it is easy to see what are the photos I chose and how I edited it.

Robert Berdan:
Robert Berdan's photographs:
In these photographs, Robert Berdan took photos of mostly nature such as flowers, trees, rivers and mountains. In some photographs, there are vehicles like trains, e.t.c. In all of Robert's photographs, it is all symmetrical, however, not too much, it is more like of simplistic instead of complicated, because if you look at these photos, you can immediately understand what the whole photo is, you don't need to look very carefully and find any specific details. There are some photos that look really unique and amazed. The words that I would use simplistic and nature to describe these photos. In all of this photos, it is both of naturalistic and abstract images, because Robert didn't really edit that much in all of his photos, he only copy and paste the same photo and make it the opposite, but in some photos the same copied photo, it is less opaque so it is little hard to see, the rest is naturalistic where nothing is done but is left alone.
In these photos, the colour and the tone looks normal, however, in some photos there are little darkness and blurry on the background which makes the specific thing in the photos more attentive instead of focusing what is in the background. However, these photos looked like it were made by AI robots because it look quite odd and simple. The angle of the view is quite complicated to know because it had been symmetries, so I don't know the angle of the view.
The anomalies in these photographs are vehicles such as trains, this is because in all photos, it is mostly nature and nothing else, so if there are any odds for example trains then it will be strange and a sense/feeling of oddness.

Single image Analysis:
In this photograph, I see an aspect of a plant, but in symmetrical way. The plant look very unique, this is because the plant look very simplistic. What I see in this photo is just a plant and a blur background to make the viewer to focus on the main thing which is the plant which makes it attentive. Also, the plant is symmetrical, however it look complicated because it is a small aspect of the plant that is being used.

Homework: Inspired by Robert Berdan:
In this homework, I took many photographs of nature and buildings inspired by one of the artists that I chose, who is Robert Berdan. I also used some ideas from the artist, such as taking pictures of nature. I also took photos of buildings in different areas; I also took photos of a mix of both, so photos of nature and buildings.
What I really like in this homework are that I took photos with nature and artificial mixing them both in one whole photos. I also like the angle of view that I took in the photographs, I also like the way that I change the brightness and contrast of the photos to make it look like more calm and peaceful.
What I need to do is to take many photos of just only nature then it will be easier editing, and also showing that there is no artificial on the background which get rid of the attention on the background and focus on nature.

Make a book filled with photos inspired by different artists.
Make sculpture, Look up ideas on how to make different types of sculpture.
Print out the photos, lay them out on a plain white or black background, and take pictures of them.
Make a timelapse and a video similar to Dafna Talmor and upload them to the website.
Change the colour or inverted and play around with the ink.
Digital collages.

For the year 11 exam, I plan to make many slides as I can for 5 hours, which starts on Thursday, project it with the projector and take photos of each slides using my school camera. I also plan to make at least 2-4 sculptures, if I finish doing the slides, I will start making on Thursday and continue on Friday, which is also 5 hours.
THURSDAY:
On this day, I am going to print my photos, which I already edited, using acetates, then I will use equipment or tools to scratch the photos to make it look more complicated/destroyed. Then I will put the photos in the mini frames and adjust the photo to give the best, I will also add some colour crystal papers and maybe different colours of paint, after I done all of that, I will set up the projector to project my photos, I will use the school camera to take photos of each slide. If I have time after finishing slides part, I will start making sculptures, I will use cardboard for my photos, which I already printed. I will glue the photos on the cardboard, then cut out the part of the photos, by using scapel, but maybe I will different colours on the cardboard.
FRIDAY:
On this day, I will continue what I was doing on Thursday. I will use one A3 photo as the first layer of the sculpture, then i will use a4 and small photos to use for the second, third and fourth layer.
